CANCELLED Picnic Polo 14th June 2025
Fmaily-friendly Picnic Polo event at Noosa Country Polo this June!
Bring the family and experience sportsmanship, beautiful horses, and a stunning setting in the Noosa Hinterland at the foot of the majestic Cooroy Mountain, seen from Noosa Beach.
The event is part of the Queensland Polo Association and the Australian Polo Federation and will include a polo tournament with players from around Queensland.
It’s a time to relax and bring your families and enjoy the day among the beautiful horses whilst at the same time contributing to a worthy cause to assist diverse charities in our community that help so many families in a time of need. The idea behind the event is to bring the community together and build an atmosphere of inclusion and enjoyment.
The Noosa Country Polo Club was established by Niall and Illy Coburn 8 years ago and is part of the Australian Polo Federation and the Queensland Polo Association.
Polo is one of the oldest sports in the world going back centuries to ancient Persia, Pakistan and Mongolia. Often thought as an elite sport, Noosa Country Polo is determined to create a different culture on a more grass roots community level involving families, similar to the approach in Argentina for everyone.
The idea is to enhance the sport and share our enthusiasm of polo and other equestrian disciplines and help younger people learn and be involved. Our club’s mott is, “it takes courage to encourage, and polo stands for the acronyms, “please love people often.” As Winston Churchill once said, ” Polo is the passport to the world and “a day on a horse is never wasted.” Niall and Eileen have recently moved a century old house from Moree and old racing stables from the Toowoomba to establish a “play and stay” polo facility. The polo field was established with local agricultural skills and is part of the old Dath Henderson farm which is the flattest land in the area that formerly used to grow corn for cattle for the local dairy industry.
Cars will be allowed to park around the polo field at 10am, no reservations first in best dressed.
Guests MUST sign the waiver (click here) If you require more information you may contact: Niall Coburn via the Noosa Country Polo website emai:linfo@noosacountrypolo.com or 0488488649
